The "Fat Belly" skinner is a classic design that has proven itself over and over in the field for hundreds of years.  The broad sweep of the belly of the blade and the bull nosed tip allows easy skinning of your game with very minimal cutting into the hide. 
 
The "Fat Belly" is a forged, heat treated 1095 High Carbon steel blade with an HRC between 58-60.  1095 HC is a very durable steel that will hold an extremely sharp  edge for a long time and it is easy to sharpen. With a blade thickness of .185 and a large finger hole that allows different angles of grip, you will be able to skin small game with ease and it will be extremely durable for large game such as deer, bear, caribou or moose.  This is a must have tool in the field !
